We believe being part of a community is so much more than simply doing business there. It's about doing our part to help that community and our customers thrive.
We’re actively involved the communities we serve:
- Through the DTE Energy Foundation, we support programs that develop young leaders, advance math and science education, sustain the environment, and promote diversity and community development. The Foundation awarded nearly $7.6 million dollars to Michigan nonprofits in 2007 alone.
- Our Regional Relations Representatives serve as company liaisons with community leaders and local governmental groups and officials in the Detroit Edison and MichCon service areas.
-
Education Resources offers mini-grant and summer workshop programs to area teachers, as well as providing informative programs and materials for students and communities.
- Our employees and retirees contributed $2.3 million to United Way in 2007. And hundreds of them commit their time and energy to Habitat for Humanity, food banks, and many other environmental and community programs across the state.
- We sponsor numerous major events, performances and teams throughout our Detroit Edison and MichCon service areas, enriching the quality of life for Michigan residents and encouraging tourism.
- Our Economic Development staff offers a variety of business development services. They're dedicated to the retention and expansion of Michigan businesses as well as attracting new companies to the state.
