Home Energy Assessment

Improve your home comfort and find new ways to save money!

Get a Rebate and a Long-Term Savings Strategy with your Energy Assessment.

How it works

You qualify for an Energy Assessment rebate if DTE is the primary provider of your home's heat (most gas and gas/electric combination customers qualify).

Use our Find a Contractor database to identify participating contractors. Energy Assessment contractors use the latest technology and diagnostic testing tools to conduct an in-depth, holistic assessment of your home.

You receive a rebate and recommendations that will help you lower costs and save energy for years to come! The contactor will fill out and submit a rebate form for you online.

The Energy Assessment includes:

  • Blower door tests to detect air leaks, drafts and condensation.
  • Safety and energy efficiency testing on heating & cooling equipment to optimize comfort and reduce health and safety risks.
  • Thermal imaging of your home to identify hot and cold spots.
  • Energy modeling to estimate costs and savings of recommended improvements.

Single-family homes and homes with less than five connected housing units are eligible. Your home must have a separate entrance and a separate meter. New construction homes do not qualify.

Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You are encouraged to apply early, as program funds are limited.
