* One kilowatt hour (kWh) is the electricity needed to light a 100-watt bulb for 10 hours. You are billed based on how many kilowatt hours you use.
** Your average use per day for the past year can be found next to the graph on your bill.
To take full advantage of the discount, you must be 62 years of age and head of household, and use an average of less than 700 kilowatt hours per month, or this rate will not be beneficial to you.
Check your average electricity use over the past 12 months. Your actual savings will depend on the amount of electricity you use.
Signing up for this rate is simple.
Just call Customer Service at 800.477.4747. Press 1 for "residential", then 3 for "billing/payment" and then 5 for "other". Ask for the Senior Citizen Residential Electric Service Rate.
