DTE has served Michigan as the state’s leading renewable energy investor and producer for more than a decade. We know that generating more clean energy is one of the most important steps we can take to reduce carbon emissions and address climate change.
While our investment in renewable energy already exceeds $4 billion, we have ambitious plans to do even more. Today, our 20 wind parks and 33 solar parks generate enough clean energy to power more than 750,000 homes. We are planning to add 1,000 megawatts of new wind and solar energy annually, developing enough renewable energy to power 5 million homes by 2042.
Complementing our renewable energy development, DTE is also a leader in energy storage -- the capture and storage of energy produced at one time for later use. Investing in both renewable energy development and energy storage is vital to Michigan’s clean energy transformation.
