DTE’s wind parks are doing more than generating clean energy; they’re also strengthening Michigan’s economy. Rural communities that host wind energy projects benefit from the added tax revenue these projects generate, and farmers who host turbines and other infrastructure on their property appreciate the extra income this provides. Our wind parks also provide local employment opportunities before, during and after a park is built.
Isabella Wind, originally developed as two adjacent projects, began generating power in 2021. The projects were combined into the state's largest wind park in 2023. Located in mid-Michigan’s Isabella County, the park has 136 wind turbines generating enough clean energy to power more than 121,000 homes.
DTE’s newest wind park and the state’s largest when it came online in 2023, Meridian Wind has 77 wind turbines generating enough clean energy to power more than 78,000 homes. Spanning three townships across Midland and Saginaw counties, the park was constructed almost entirely by Michigan workers.
