Wi-Fi Enabled Thermostats

Set your level of home comfort and get more control over your energy bill.

Receive a $50 rebate with your new wi-fi enabled thermostat.

How it works

DTE electric and/or natural gas residential customers who purchase a qualified wi-fi-enabled thermostat may be eligible for a rebate. Rebate applications must be received within 6 months of the purchase date and no later than December 31, 2025.

You can receive an instant rebate when purchasing a wi-fi enabled thermostat from the DTE Marketplace. Or if you’ve already purchased a wi-fi enabled thermostat from a different retailer, apply for your rebate online. It’s easy:

  1. Fill in the name and address of the DTE account holder and the DTE account number. (Your account number is available on your paper bill or online account).
  2. Include a copy of the original receipt that shows date of purchase, model number, name of the manufacturer and name of the retailer. (Don’t have a digital copy? We also accept pictures of documents taken with your smartphone.)

One rebate per household. A thermostat purchased as part of a bundle must appear as a line item on the invoice or receipt, with the correlated price of the thermostat, to be eligible. Home must have been constructed more than 24 months prior to the purchase of your appliance.

Refurbished or resale units do not qualify for rebate.

 Thermostats (Wi-Fi)

Cold Weather Savings

Set your thermostat between 68° and 70° when you're home and at 65° or lower when you're away. You can save around 3% on heating costs for each degree you lower your thermostat.

Hot Weather Savings

Adjust your smart thermostat when you are an hour away to pre-cool your home. You’ll arrive home to a comfortable temperature, and you’ve saved energy and money by not continually running your air conditioner when no one was home.

Geofencing for Savings

Some smart thermostats have a geofencing feature that tracks your location by using your smartphone GPS. When you are away, the thermostat automatically adjusts your home temperature to reduce unnecessary energy usage.
