Your site must have a dedicated meter solely for the purpose of powering your EV Charger
A Work Order to increase electrical capacity or add an additional EV meter requires the following five documents:
- Request for New Electric Service form
- Copy of property deed from the property owner
- Site plan with existing utilities highlighted and proposed transformer location (Final location to be decided by the customer and DTE Planning.)
- DTE's load sheet form. Your electrical contractor will help complete the form.
- Riser diagram. Your electrical contractor will help complete: see sample diagram.
Once you’ve completed these documents, Email the files to NBREQUEST_Account@dteenergy.com and Copy evinfo@dteenergy.com with your site address in the subject line. (i.e., Work Order Needed for 1 Street Name, City, MI ZIP Code).
You will receive an email from DTE Planning with your WO number within three to five business days.
Typically, within six business days after you receive the WO number, DTEs Planning Team will contact you by email to gather more information about your project. You can then begin with step 5 found on Commercial Charger Installation to complete your new or upgraded service with DTE.
